Rights Respecting Team

Article 2 - 'All children have all these rights, no matter who they are, where they live, what language they speak, what their religion is, what they think, what they look like, if they are a boy or girl, if they have a disability, if they are rich or poor, and no matter who their parents or families are or what their parents or families believe or do. No child should be treated unfairly for any reason.'.
St Patrick’s Primary School: Rights Respecting School - Bronze Award
At St Patrick’s, we are proud to be working towards becoming a Rights Respecting School, in partnership with UNICEF UK. This means we are committed to putting the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child at the heart of everything we do.
Our Aims:
- Help children understand their rights and how to respect the rights of others.
- Create a safe, inclusive and respectful school environment.
- Encourage pupils to think about their role in the wider world and how they can make a difference.
- Promote values like equality, dignity, respect, and participation in everyday school life.
- Use rights-respecting language and behaviour across the school.
- Celebrate diversity and promote understanding of different cultures, religions, and abilities.
Our Steering Group, made up of pupils and staff, leads exciting activities and assemblies to help everyone learn more about children’s rights. Together, we’re building a school where every child feels valued, heard, and empowered.
